LG has launched the new LG G3 Beat smartphone with 5.00-inch 720x1280 display powered by 1.2GHz processor alongside 1GB RAM and 8-megapixel rear camera in India for the price of Rs. 25,000
The G3 Beat features a similar design as the G3, albeit in a smaller form factor. The device also features the same laser autofocus system LG debuted with the G3. Available in Gold, Silk White and Metallic Black color variants, the G3 Beat is squarely targeted at the mid-tier segment, and comes with specs to match. The device features a 5-inch 720p display, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, 8 MP camera, 1.3 MP front shooter, LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, (no Wi-Fi ac here folks), Bluetooth 4.0 LE and a 2450 mAh battery. If you're wondering, yes, the power button is still at the back.
There is a microSD card slot that can accommodate SD cards up to 64 GB in size, and the G3 Beat comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. LG-exclusive features like Knock Code, Smart Keyboard, Touch and Shoot and Gesture Shot are included, although we wonder whether these will be enough to generate significant interest in the device considering its exorbitant price tag. The Indian market currently features a smorgasbord of devices that offer a similar feature-set as the G3 Beat at a much lower price point, so it should be interesting to see if LG can manage to find a lot of customers for the G3 Beat.
